Admittedly, Pakistan moving in right direction: President Dr Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan is moving in the right direction admittedly.

Addressing the joint session of the parliament on Monday, he said that the revenue collection had increased by 18 percent, with exports and remittances standing at US$27 billion and US$29 billion.

"The stock market has broken all records. Job opportunities have been created in 70 percent sectors. Economies have shrunk across the world," he maintained.

The President lauded the government policy on Afghanistan. He urged the new Afghan leadership to evolve nation unity. "Pakistan has always desiring peace in Afghanistan and has been playing an important role for peace," he added.

He said that Pakistan is steadfast on its principled stance on Kashmir. "Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris' right to self-determination as per resolutions of the United Nations," he added.

Dr Arif Alvi said that the electronic voting machine should not be made a political football. "The opposition should cooperate with the government in the electoral reforms," he added.

He Alvi appreciated prime minister's efforts to convince the western countries with regard to Islamophobia. He said that the society should stop the people harassing the women instead of making their videos.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, all four chief ministers, chief of all forces, including Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and ambassadors of several countries were also present.
