KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan Railways has decided to keep continue advance booking of trains after May 31. According to a notification issued on Friday, It has been directed that advance reservation of the fifteen trains which were permitted to run during the coronavirus lockdown will continue till further orders. The booking offices for trains running from Karachi to other parts of the country remain open from 08:00am to 08:00pm. Reservation offices are functional only at Karachi’s city railway station, Hyderabad, Rohri and Sukkur due to the lockdown. The Pakistan Railways has also decided to restore five more trains from June 1 under designed standard operating procedures (SOPs). Sir Syed Express, Rehman Baba Express, Hazara Express, Karachi Express and Shalimar Express will resume their operations. “Only 60 per cent of the passengers will be allowed in the trains as per designed SOPs”, the notification reads. On May 20, Pakistan Railways had resumed its limited train operation across the country to facilitate passengers during Eidul Fitr.
