Afghan government, Taliban hold peace talks in Doha tomorrow; Pakistan delegation to participate in talks

DOHA – The three-day peace talks between Afghan government and Taliban will be held in Doha on Sunday, reported 92 News on Saturday. A Pakistan delegation will also participated in the talks. Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for Afghan Taliban, has confirmed the participation of their delegation in the conference. The conference on Science and World Affairs is being held under the auspices of Pugwash Conference on Sunday and the Afghan government and Taliban have been invited to the conference. The conference to be held in Turkey was earlier postponed for certain reasons. Afghan Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, former president Hamid Karzai and other officials will represent the Afghan government. Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that an eight-member delegation of the Taliban would attend the conference. He said that the delegates would express their personal viewpoints and they would not represent any government or organisation. He said that they had sent their delegations in conferences held in Japan and France. The Taliban delegation comprises of Molvi Jan Muhammad Madni, Molvi Syed Rasool Haleem., Molvi Shahbuddin Dilawar, Qari Din Muhammad Hanif, Molvi Abdul Salam Hanfi, Muhammad Sohail Shaheen and Hafiz Azizur Rahman. Zabihullah Mujahid said that they had prepared a declaration, which would be issued at suitable time. The 20-member Afghan government delegation, including two members of the Hizab-e-Islami, will participate in the talks.
