Afghan president will visit Pakistan on June 27

ISLAMABAD (92 news) – Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has said that he will visit Pakistan on June 27 to open a new chapter in his country’s relationship with its neighbour. In his message to mark Eidul Fitr, Ashraf Ghani said he agreed to visit Prime Minister Imran Khan after the two leaders met last week on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Saudi Arabia. “I hope the visit will be positive,” Ghani said. During their meeting at the sidelines of the OIC, Prime Minister Imran and President Ghani exchanged views on bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process. The prime minister during his interaction with Ghani had reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, according to a PM Office statement. The premier also underlined Pakistan’s firm support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process for political settlement in Afghanistan.
PM, Afghan president discuss bilateral relations, regional situation
Prime Minister Imran Khan says Pakistan is determined to a peaceful and stable Pakistan. He was talking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Makkah. The prime minister also expressed complete support to a political solution comprising Afghan leadership. Both the leaders discussed bilateral Pak-Afghan relations and regional situation. A day earlier, Imran Khan has arrived in Madina Munawwarah as part of his three day visit to Saudi Arabia. He will visit Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) and perform Nawafil at Masjid-e-Nabvi before leaving for Jeddah. He along with a delegation will perform Umrah.

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan will attend the 14th meeting of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). The title of the conference is ‘Mecca Summit: Together for the Future.’

The summit to be chaired by King Salman aims to develop a unified stance on current issues and events in the Islamic world. Ahead of the summit, a meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Jeddah.
