Afghan Taliban say willing to meet PM Imran in Pakistan if invited formally

92 NEWS - Taliban in Afghanistan Friday said they could visit Pakistan to meet  Prime Minister Imran Khan if are extended a formal invitation by Pakistani government.  The announcement by Taliban follows PM Imran Khan's statement during his recent visit to Washington, where he said he would meet Taliban and convince them for a meeting with the Afghan government. "We want peace in Afghanistan, Pakistan will do everything to help Taliban come on the dialogue table so that there is peace," the premier said. Speaking to the BBC via telephone from Taliban's political; office in Doha, Afghan Taliban spokesperson Sohail Shaheen said they would visit Pakistan if they are extended a formal invitation. "We often visit regional countries and would surely go there because Pakistan is our neighbor and Muslim country, he was quoted as saying." Shaheen further said their delegation would also meet Afghan government and relevant stakeholders after successful talks with foreign powers.
