ISLAMABAD (92 News) - After the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) also challenged the July 12 verdict of giving the reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday.

The review petition filed by Farooq H Naik appealed to the SC to withdraw its verdict regarding the reserved seats.

It contended that the SC short verdict was against the law and facts.

“According to the law and the constitution, the PTI does not deserve the reserved seats as it was not a party in the ECP, the Peshawar High Court and the Supreme Court. The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and the PTI are two different parties, but the SC considered them the same party. It is violation of the law to declare independent candidates as PTI candidates. The independent candidates had already joined the SIC. It is against the law to allow the independent candidates to join the PTI after several months of the elections,” it added.
