Under-Age Marriage: 50-year-old groom among 30 held in Badin

BADIN (92 News) – Police have on Sunday apprehended a 50-year-old groom and more than 30 others who was trying to marry minor 10-year-old girl after her grabby father sold her for Rs5 million in Badin. As per details, on a tip off Police raided a Nikah ceremony where a 50-year-old man namely Abdul Haq was trying to forcefully marry a minor 10-year-old girl who was sold by her father namely Jan Muhammad Qambrani for Rs5 million and arrested the groom, girl’s father and 30 others. Police also took the minor girl in custody. Police officials said that a case will be registered against Abdul Haq (the grrom) and Jan Muhammad Qambrani (victim’s father).
