ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal predicted mid-term election in upcoming year on Wednesday late night. In an interview with 92 News programme “Ho Kya Raha Hai” with senior analyst Arif Nizami, the PML-N stalwart expressed his opinion ongoing political situation of the country and predicted, “I am seeing the mid-term polls in next year due to the current political and economic crisis.” Ahsan Iqbal termed that the election should be conducted in the national interests for taking out the country from crisis. He mentioned that the incumbent government has failed to deliver and run the country’s affairs properly. The PML-N leader claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Isnaf (PTI) led government has made unprecedented corruption during the short tenure of eight months. He added that the government earned billions of rupees profit from hiking the prices of medicines. Ahsan Iqbal claimed that all the matters, related to the decisions of government, were connected with the Bani Gala.
Chanting slogans of ‘Naya Pakistan’ are adopting old policies: Ahsan Iqbal
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) senior leader has said that those chanted the slogens of ‘Naya Pakistan’ are adopting the old polices.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Ahsan Iqbal mentioned that the opposition desired to serve the public with collaboration of the government but the rulers did not take any step forward.

Taking jibe at the government, the former interior minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan deceived the masses by showing them false dreams. He also said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) coming into power is the biggest deceive of the country’s 70 years history. Ahsan Iqbal said that the success of his party is being presented as a failure through a conspiracy, adding that stories of so-called corruption and debts were created. He claimed that those chanting slogans of Naya Pakistan are taking up policies of previous government.
