Ailing comedian Umar Sharif leaves for US by air ambulance

KARACHI (92 News) – Renowed comedy king Umar Sharif left Karachi Airport for America by air ambulance on Tuesday.

As per details, one of Umar Sharif's wives, Zareen Ghazal, is also with him in the air ambulance, while his two sons and first wife will fly to the United States tonight by a commercial flight.

The air ambulance will stay in Germany for some time for refuelling. Doctors at George Washington Hospital in the United States have been briefed on Umar Sharif's condition and reports.

Umar Sharif's eldest son Jawad Sharif, while talking to the media, said that his father always loved Pakistan and today the whole nation is praying for him. He appealed that his father be remembered in prayers till his full recovery.

Earlier, Umar Sharif was airlifted from a private hospital to the airport. Umar Sharif had been undergoing coronary treatment at a private hospital in Karachi for several days. The Sindh government had released Rs 40 million for Umar Sharif's treatment. The federal and provincial governments also assisted in obtaining US visas for Umar Sharif and his family.
