ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Air Force Day was celebrated across the country to pay tributes to the martyrs of PAF who embraced martyrdom while defending the country during the Indo-Pak War in 1965. A notable event of the war was that Pakistan Air Force flying ace Muhammad Mahmood Alam shot down five planes of Indian Air Force in less than a minute. The PAF inflicted a defeat on India despite having limited resources. The world is witness to the PAF action when it downed two Indian jets and arrested one of the pilots Abhinandan on February 27. The defenders of the border – F-7, Miarj, F-16 and JF Thunder-17 – are a symbol of fear for the enemy. In a message on Twitter, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Air Force Day reminded of the bravery and courage of Shaheens of Air Force who with their spirit of belief made the enemy run away. https://twitter.com/Dr_FirdousPTI/status/1170215650897403905?s=20 She said that Rashid Minhas and MM Alam were the symbol of Pakistan Air Force in the world. “The whole nation salutes the worthy Shaheens of Air Force,” she said.
