Airport Torture Case: SC orders to present report on progress regarding inquiry

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Thursday ordered to present the record of inquiry into the torture on women by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials at Islamabad airport.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar resumed hearing of the suo motu notice of an incident into the torture on women by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials at Islamabad airport.

During the proceedings, the Attorney General (AG) told the court that the three female FIA personnel were declared responsible for the incident.

The AG said that the FIA personnel Ghazala Shaheen has been dismissed, while both the victims have left the country from Peshawar airport.

The court demanded the report on the progress regarding inquiry currently being carried out at Airport police station.

He court further adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
