Aitchison College principal resigns over fee waiver differences

LAHORE (92 News) - Aitchison College Principal Michael A Thomson tendered his resignation after developing differences over fee waiver for the children of Federal Minister Ahmed Cheema.

In his resignation letter, he said that the policy was damaged to benefit some people. "I have no option except to leave the institution. The policy was amended to facilitate the children of Ahad Cheema.

He said that there was no room for politics and nepotism in Aitchison College.

Reacting to the principal's allegations, Governor Baleeghur Rehman said that the Aitchison College principal had been drawing Rs four million as salary. "He adopted this tactics to avoid inquiries when we started an audit into anomalies. Ahad Cheema's children were not going to college. For this reason, their mother submitted an application for the fee waiver," he added.
