AJK High Court disqualifies PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas in contempt of court case

MUZAFFARBAD (92 News) - The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Tuesday disqualified Prime Minister Sardar Tanvir Ilyas in the contempt of court case.

PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas appeared in court and tendered an unconditional apology, which was rejected.

The court also sentenced PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas till end of the court and de-seated him from the Legislative Assembly, declaring him ineligible for any public office. Soon after his disqualification, Sardar Tanvir Ilyas reached the Supreme Court against the judgement.

The court ruled that the unconditional apology tendered by PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas was not accepted. In the court, three video clips were played and later answers to 10 questions were sought from him.

The court also wrote a letter to the chief election commissioner for election of the new prime minister.
