Al-Azizia reference: IHC to hear NAB appeal against Nawaz Sharif's sentence on Sept 1

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the appeal of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the sentence of the convicted prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference on September 1. The bench will comprise of Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani will hear the NAB plea. Moreover, the bench will also hear NAB's appeals seeking enhancement in the sentence of Nawaz Sharif and his acquittal in the Flagship reference. All three appeals will be heard simultaneously. On December 24, 2018, Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik had sentenced former premier Nawaz Sharif for seven years in the Al-Azizia and acquitted him in Flagship Investment references. The court also fined him US$25 million.
