ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Ali Jehangir Siddiqui leaves for Washington today to take charge as ambassador to the US amidst reservations over the appointment. According to the details, the ambassador-designate left for the US via Abu Dhabi on Saturday before one day from the schedule. The new US ambassador has also been summoned by the National Accountability Court (NAB) in a corruption case. After residing one day at Abu Dubai, he will reach in US on the evening of May 28. He will take a charge of office as Pakistan envoy to US on May 29. PM Abbasi recently appointed Ali Jahangir as ambassador to the US, a decision which received flak due to Ali’s inexperience and the personal basis of the PM’s decision.
