LAHORE (92 News) Multan Sultans' owner, Ali Tareen, has expressed his disappointment over the Pakistan Super League's (PSL) decision to select Ali Zafar once again for the official anthem of PSL 10.
In a post on Instagram, Tareen questioned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for continuing to rely on the same artiste despite Pakistan’s rich pool of musical talent.
Tareen wrote, "Pakistan has so many amazing artists. Yet, almost half of our anthems have been given to the same middle-aged dude. Despite franchises raising concerns about the artist, they talk about making this the biggest PSL ever, yet keep giving space to the same recycled voices."
The PCB recently released a teaser poster for PSL 10’s anthem, featuring Zafar in a masked look. The full title and details of the song remain under wraps, but the anthem is expected to be unveiled soon.
Zafar has performed multiple PSL anthems, including last season's "Khul Ke Khel." However, with the 10th edition of the league being promoted as the biggest yet, many fans and critics are calling for greater diversity in the musical representation of the tournament.
The PSL 10 will begin on April 11 and run until May 18, with matches held in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
