PESHAWAR (92 News) – KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said that Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leaders Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar should be punished on their malicious propaganda aimed towards destabilizing the state and it’s security agencies. Addressing a press conference in on Thursday, the minister said that attacking a military check post is no ordinary deed, those campaigning in favor of PTM should also to the families of those who lost their lives. “If PTM wants to do politics then they are more than welcome but people are yet again trying to use Pashtun’s to fulfill their nefarious designs,” he mentioned. “Will Pashtun’s only be used for fighting, taking up arms and to die?,” the minister asked. He complained about damages incurred upon the infrastructure in the tribal region due to years of war-like situation. “Sincere efforts are being made to develop and rebuild the infrastructure, these projects won’t be made in a few days after their announcement, the process takes time,” he asserted. The information minister stressed that those trying to divide the country on ethnic, linguistic or sectarian lines will gain nothing from it and their efforts will be in vain. “What kind of an act was it when you take an armed mob along and demolish a security checkpost, Pakistan Army is the reason that terrorism was eliminated from the region, Shakuat Yousafzai concluded.
Check-post attack: Mohsin Dawar remanded in CTD custody for 8 days
Earlier today, the security forces arrested mastermind of Pakistan Army’s check post attack Mohsin Dawar from North Waziristan. The PTM leader was presented in the ATC in Bannu where he was remanded into the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police for eight days. “Accused is remanded to police for eight (08) days subject to pre and post medical checkup. Accused be re-produced before the court on dated 07/06/2019 (June 7),” read an order handed down by ATC Special Judge Babar Ali Khan. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group led by Mohsin Javed and Ali Wazir, assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district on Sunday morning. He has been on the run after an attack on Khar Qamar check-post by terrorists. After fleeing, Mohsin Dawar had criticized the Pak Army in an interview. He was produced before a magistrate in Bannu. He used to demand the withdrawal of Pak Army from Waziristan during speeches and hurled threats to the Pak Army.
