All public & private schools of Punjab to be opened from 7 to 11:30: Murad

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass has announced that all government and private schools in Punjab will be opened from 7am to 11:30am.

"All Public & Private Schools of Punjab to comply with the following New School Timing Schedule: 7am to 11:30am. Please follow SOPs issued by the Government," the provincial minister tweeted.

Earlier, the government has decided to promote students of government schools of federal capital studying in grade I to IV, VI and VII without exams. While, the students of grade V and VIII will have to sit exams.

Last year, all students from grade one to eight had to sit exams.

It also pertinent to mention here that schools across Punjab will reopen from June 7 (tomorrow), the provincial education department announced. The schools are already conducting classes for grades 9-10.

Educational institutes will be allowed to call 50% students to attend classes on alternate days, the education department said in a statement. No student should be allowed to attend classes for two consecutive days.

Educational institutions across Pakistan were to reopen May 24, but the government decided to keep them closed till June 7 in the districts where the coronavirus positivity rate was above 5 per cent.
