All set for today by-elections in 35 constituencies

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – All arrangements have been finalized to hold the by-elections in 35 constituencies of National and provincial assemblies on Sunday. Polling luggage, including ballot boxes and ballot papers, was handed over to the officers under the supervision of the Pak Army. The by-elections will be held for 11 each seats of National and provincial assemblies in Punjab, while by-polls is scheduled for nine seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two each seats of Sindh and Balochistan. Stringent security arrangements have been made on the occasion. There is a complete ban on the display of weapons. Sensitive polling stations will be supervised through CCTV cameras. As many as 375 candidates are in the race for the by-elections. The polling will begin at 8am and continue till 5pm without any break. Over 7,400 polling stations have been set up for the by polls. Of these, 1727 have been categorized as highly sensitive. Overseas Pakistanis will vote for the first time in the by-polls. The ECP has established a control room for the guidance of Overseas Pakistanis. In a statement, the ECP advised the overseas Pakistanis, who have not yet received voting password, to contact the control room at 0092512778899. It said that voters would not be allowed to cast their votes without password.
