- Former finance minister Shaukat Tarin, in leaked audio calls, has asked Punjab Finance Minister Mohsin Leghari and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra to tell the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that they are unable to fulfill the Rs750 billion commitment due to the recent floods.

He further said that the PTI would later release the calls to the IMF representatives. In response, Mohsin Leghari questioned: "Will the move not cause a loss to the state?"

Shaukat Tarin told Leghari that terrorism cases were being registered against the PTI leaders. "Will the treatment being meted out to Imran Khan and others not damage the state?" he questioned in the leaked audio call.

He also directed the ministers to hold press conferences along with writing letters to the federal government. "Imran Khan will order further what has to be done in future," he added.

The move is a sign of increasing gulf between the federal government and the PTI.
