Altaf terms BBC report propaganda to end his struggle

KARACHI/LONDON (92 News) - In response to a BBC report that claimed Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) received Indian funding, weapons and training, the MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday in a telephonic address termed the report a propaganda by his enemies who are bent upon finishing his struggle. Delivering an emotional address over the phone to his supporters in Karachi, Altaf vowed not to bow to ‘cruel’ and ‘evil’ forces. "In these tough times, if someone wants to quit he can," he said. "We are going through a crucial situation and that their workers’ safety is something I care about the most." He added that the MQM has always been blamed for the ill in the country, saying that it was not the first time that his party is being targeted of such allegations. Meanwhile, MQM workers and officials voiced their allegiance to the chief, with the coordination committee saying that the MQM is a patriotic Pakistani party and believes in Pakistan’s unity and stability. Earlier, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) claimed in a report on Wednesday that MQM leaders have received funding from Indian authorities. British authorities investigating MQM for money laundering also recovered a list of weapons from MQM office, the report further said.
