American Business Council expresses trust on govt's policies

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday met with the delegation of American Business Council in Islamabad. Talking to a delegation of American Business Council, the prime minister has said foreign companies are investing in different sectors of Pakistan as a result of pro investment policies of the PTI government. He also said there is great potential of foreign investment in the country. PM Khan assured the delegation to fully facilitate their investments in different sectors. He said that the government’s economic policies are directed towards wealth creation, facilitating investors and ensuring ease of doing business. The premier said these policies will result in generation of job opportunties, reduction in poverty and equipping the youth with different skills. The delegation included representatives of eminent American and international companies.

The delegation expressed confidence and trust in the policies of the government describing its steps towards Ease of Travel to Pakistan and Ease of Doing Business as exemplary.
Federal cabinet discusses 21-point agenda
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss 21-point agenda on Thursday. Briefing the journalists about the decisions taken by the cabinet, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that the prime minister gave directions to get vacated the government residences and hostels vacated from the occupants which are not entitled to it.
Govt to encourage overseas Pakistanis to come to Pakistan
However, Fawad stressed that the overseas Pakistanis are an asset and contributing to the economy by sending remittances worth billions of dollars. He said the government will encourage the overseas Pakistanis to come to Pakistan and serve the country and its masses.
The minister informed that the federal cabinet has decided to constitute a committee headed by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak to develop a proper system for stabilization of prices of essential commodities. He also said a mobile application will also be developed which will provide an opportunity to the consumers to check the prices of essential commodities in the country in order to discourage overcharging. Fawad Chaidhry said that the statistics division gave a presentation to the cabinet on the trend in the prices of essential commodities. He pointed out that the inflation increased by five point eight percent in the first six months of PML-N government whilst it grew by only one point four per cent in the first six months of PTI government. The information minister said that prices of green pepper, Channa, garlic, onion, pulses, eggs, cabbage and petrol have witnessed a decline.
