SHC suspends magistrate's order to conduct autopsy of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain

KARACHI (92 News) - The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday ordered to suspend the order of the magistrate to conduct autopsy on the body of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain.

The petition was filed by Amir Liaquat Hussain’s son and daughter, seeking an immediate hearing of the case as the exhumation and autopsy are planned for tomorrow. The court accepted the plea and a division bench of the SHC.

Earlier, a six-member medical board had been formed to conduct an autopsy of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain on court’s orders. According to the police surgeon, they cannot know about the reasons of the death without inspecting the inner part of the body.

It is pertinent here to mention that Magistrate Wazir Hussain Memon had ordered autopsy of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain. The petition, filed by a citizen Abdul Ahad had contended that the death of Amir Liaquat Hussain had given birth to several suspicions. The state counsel had said that the deceased's relatives do not want his autopsy as it would hurt his soul.
