ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that the recovered amount of written off bank loans of 54 billion rupee would be used for construction of dams A three member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by the chief justice heard the case regarding written off bank loans of 54 billion rupee. During the hearing, the chief justice remarked that the loans should be returned back with voluntarily otherwise the case will be sent to the banking courts. He said cases of those repaying seventy-five percent of their loans would be cleared and others would be sent to the banking court. The top judge said that the banking courts would be asked to decide the cases within six weeks. Saqib Nisar also remarked that the recovered amountof written off loans, which will be returned back, would be used for construction of dams. He said banks have already waived off loans. CJ takes notice of Pakistanis stranded in China The chief justice took notice of the matter of over 300 Pakistani passengers stranded in China and ordered to hold the hearing of the case on Friday. The CJ took notice of the incident over media reports which revealed that at least 300 Pakistani passengers were stranded in Guangzhou city of China. The passengers had to reach Pakistan through a private airline on July 29 but they were facing difficulties due to delay in flights after some technical issues.
