ANF asks govt to freeze more assets of Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE (92 News) – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has sent a letter to the government concerned departments to freeze more assets of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah on Friday. According to the sources, the ANF has written letters to the relevant departments seeking to freeze Rana Sanaullah’s propertiers worth Rs200 million. The sources said that the ANF approached government to freeze alleged ownership of the PML-N leader’s properties including commercial plaza in Lahore, two farmhouses and others. Earlier, the ANF had sought confiscation of 22 properties he owned in Lahore and Faisalabad. Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has launched a probe against PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah for purchasing two farmhouses in an illegal society in Kallar Kahar. A case has been registered against nine officers, including DG Environment Punjab Irfan Nazir. On September 28, Anti Narcotics Force Court Duty Judge Khalid Bashir had extended the judicial remand of PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah in a drugs recovery case till October 2. The court had also summoned the Safe City Authority MD with the record on the next date of hearing. “Why has Rana Sanaullah been presented in court?” the judge questioned. The jail officials told court that the accused are not being presented due to lawyers’ strike. Azam Nazir Tarar advocate, counsel for Rana Sanaullah, said that Rana Sanaullah is an active member of the PML-N and he has been arrested for this reason. “The FIR was registered after a delay which creates doubts and suspicions,” he said. He appealed to the court to save the footage of the arrest of his client Sanaullah. The prosecution said that they had brought the supplementary challan so that the case be tried. On July 1, the ANF Lahore had arrested PML-N leader near Sukheke. He was shifted to ANF Cantonment Office for interrogation. ANF Commander Brig Khalid Mahmood had supervised the arrest.
