Another doctor of Services Hospital succumbs to COVID-19

LAHORE (92 News) – Associate Professor of Services Hospital Lahore for Anesthesia lost his life battling with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday. According to the reports, Dr Hafiz Maqsood was hospitalized for the treatment after contracting the virus. It is noteworthy that so far 12 doctors and two nurses have succumbed to COVID-19 in Punjab. On the other hand, as many as 10 doctors of Jinnah Hospital also tested positive for coronavirus and the toll of doctors infected with COVID-19 has reached to 130. 12 doctors and seven nurses of children hospital also reported with coronavirus. Earlier, eight doctors of Shaikh Zayed Hospital tested positive for coronavirus, creating a grave concern among the medical staff figting against the pandemic on the frontline. Dr Mahboob Gillani of Services Hospital has also been diagnosed with coronavirus. MS Iftikhar said that 20 people who had been in contact with doctor are also being tested for the virus. Meanwhile, PML-N MPA Rana Arif, his wife and two children have been diagnosed with coronavirus. According to a report issued by the Health Department, coronvirus is spreading among the young people ranging between 16 and 30 in Punjab. In total, 7,346 youths are suffering from virus in the province. As many as 1,438 people aged 15 are suffering from coronavirus, while the number of affected people from 46 to 60 are 4,952. 2,290 people between 61 and 75 years are being treated for coronavirus. 351 people of over 80 are suffering from coronavirus. The Health Department has proposed a complete lockdown for 28 days in the province.
