Another twist in Dr Uzma story; Indian foreign ministry requests her safe return

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – In yet another twist, 92 News has received the pictures of the daughter of Indian citizen Dr Uzma.

92 News has received the pictures of Dr Uzma’s daughter, an Indian woman, who revealed herself as unmarried and alleged that her husband had raped her and solemnized the ‘nikkah’ at gunpoint.

The nikkahkhawn confirmed the Indian woman’s willingness for the marriage.

In a statement before the magistrate, she said that she had not come to Pakistan for contracting the marriage.

She alleged that her immigration documents had been snatched and she wanted to go back to India. She filed a petition against her husband under Article 506.

Dr Uzma said that she would remain in the Indian High Commission till his return to India.

The court had issued notices to her husband Tahir Ali, the ‘nikkahkhawn’, the registrar and witnesses.

On the other hand, the Indian foreign ministry formally contacted Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry over the issue of Indian woman’s marriage with Pakistani boy.

The foreign ministry requested the Pakistani ministry to send Indian citizen Dr Uzma back to her native country.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry informed the Indian foreign ministry that her return could only be possible after completing legal process and she will be provided with legal assistance.
