BURBANK (Web Desk) Anthony Mackie has shared fresh details about the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, suggesting it will reignite the “old Marvel feeling” that first won over fans of the franchise.
In a recent interview with IGN, Mackie, who reprises his role as Sam Wilson (now Captain America), expressed enthusiasm about working once again with the Russo Brothers, the directing duo behind Infinity War and Endgame.
“We’re supposed to go out this week, and we’ll be out there doing it,” Mackie said. “Everybody’s excited. I feel with the script and having the Russo brothers back, it’s going to be great. I’m really excited for what this project is going to be.”
The film, set for release on 1 May 2026, brings together a massive ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, and Robert Downey Jr., who returns in a surprising twist as the villain, Victor Von Doom.
It also welcomes back iconic X-Men stars such as Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, and Alan Cumming, the latter returning as Nightcrawler after over two decades. Cumming recently praised the improved makeup process, saying it now takes only 90 minutes instead of the previous four and a half hours.
With a lineup featuring the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and X-Men, Avengers: Doomsday promises to be a cinematic event designed to restore the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its former glory.
