ISLAMABAD (92 News) – State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi informed the Senate on Thursday that the elements of anti-Pakistan were conspiring to destabilize the situation and polarize the country. Talking to the floor of Senate, the minister said that the son of soil, SP Superintendent of Police (SP) Tahir Khan Dawar, was martyred in Afghanistan. “Some elements are making efforts to destabilize Pakistan. We will bring all responsible elements to book either they are in Afghanistan or Pakistan in murder of the slain cop,” he said “The killer of SP Tahir would be brought to justice and make them exemplary punishment,” Shehryar mentioned. The interior minister revealed that Dawar was kidnapped from Islamabad and shifted to Afghanistan via Mianwali and Bannu. The state minister asserted that the previous government had installed about 1,800 cameras in the federal capital under safe city project, but unfortunately, over 600 of them are non-functional. Shehryar Afridi said not a single camera is able to capture recognizable pictures of vehicles and dubious people. He urged the House to initiate an inquiry into the safe city project. On the other hand, the opposition termed the speech of Sheryar Afridi as non-serious and demanded Prime Minister Imran Khan should give clarification on the serious matter on behalf of the interior minister. The state interior minister told the House that Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken notice of the incident and ordered immediate inquiry into the incident. Earlier, the fateha prayers were also offered for SP Dawar during the Senate session.
