ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Anti-polio campaign of varied duration begins across the country on Monday. According to an official of National Emergency Operations Centre, more than 265,000 frontline polio workers are taking part in the campaign to vaccinate 39.6 million children under the age of five years. The polio workers will administer anti-polio vaccine to children under the age of five years every corner of the country. The counters have been established on bus stops and railways stations. United Nation (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will polio vaccinate to the children tomorrow in Lahore. Special Assistant on Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has requested all segments of society to join hands to eradicate polio virus from the country. “We have critically reviewed our performance during last campaign and worked with provincial and district teams for an even better preparedness for this nationwide vaccination drive,” he added. “We are committed to reach every last child with the essential anti-polio vaccine,” the special assistant mentioned.
