Anti-polio campaign continues across country for second day

LAHORE (92 News) – The five-day anti-polio campaign continued across the country for the second day.

Children under five are also being administered an additional dose of vitamin A along with anti-polio drops. During the campaign, over 40 million children will be vaccinated.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad said that anti-polio drops are very necessary for children. "Polio is a fatal disease that paralyzes children," he added.

Jamaat Ahle Hadith Pakistan Maulana Shakeelur Rehman Nasir said that the government is doing a very good job. "Newborn babies are vulnerable to these diseases and the vaccination is very necessary for them. The anti-polio drops save children from being paralyzed. There is no harmful effect of these drops," he maintained.

Minhajul Quran Movement leader Allama Muhmmad Gilani has said that precaution for every disease is necessary. "Anti-polio vaccination is important for saving the next generation from diseases."

Central Peace Committee chairman Prof Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi said that anti-polio vaccination is necessary for children. “We all have to play our role to eradicate this fatal disease. The negative propaganda against anti-polio drops should be igored,” he added.

All Sects Religious Board chairman Maulana Asim Makhdoom said that polio is a fatal disease. “For eradication of polio, we all have to play our role. There are no any harmful effects of anti-polio drops. Religious scholars across the world are in favor of anti-polio vaccination. Parents should vaccinate their children against polio,” he added.
