Anti-polio drive begins across country
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The anti-polio drive started across the country on Monday.
During a five-day campaign in Punjab 19 million children under the age of five years will be administered anti-polio vaccine.
In Sindh over 2.3 million children while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan over six point seven million and 2.5 million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops respectively.
Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government is taking every possible step to rid the country of crippling polio virus.
In a tweet on Saturday, she said that they are all united and determined for a healthy Pakistan. The special assistant appealed to the people to play their role in polio eradication by fully supporting the campaign. She noted that it is essential to administer the children anti-polio ddrops. “In this regard, more awareness is being created among the masses.” She said the polio vaccination will guarantee a healthy Pakistan. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the polio workers deserve appreciation who, despite being the victim at the hands of extremists, are discharging their responsibilities with full devotion.بچوں کو پولیو کے قطرے پلانا اشد ضروری ہے۔اس ضمن میں عوام میں مزید آگاہی اور شعور بیدار کیا جا رہا ہے۔پولیو ویکسین کے قطرےصحتمند پاکستان کی ضمانت ہیں ۔اُن پو لیو ورکرز کو سلام پیش کرتے ہیں جو شدت پسندوں کے ہاتھوں نشانہ بننے کے باوجود اپنے فرائض تندہی سے انجام دے رہے ہیں۔
