APC unanimously rejects July 25 election results, demands afresh polls

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The All Parties Conference against alleged rigging convened by the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has rejected the election results and demanded afresh polls in the country. Talking to the media after the APC on Friday, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that they do not consider the public mandate as result of the elections. He said that it is not public mandate, but the public mandate has been looted in the country. “The members of participant parties will not take the oath,” he said. He said that they would stage protest for re-election in the country. The MMA chief said that they had struggled for democracy and would not let any pawn of the establishment to run the government. “We gave powers to the Election Commission of Pakistan and a sum of Rs 20 has been incurred on the elections. But the ROs were made hostage. We will see how this parliament will be run. We will not allow them enter the House,” he announced. He said that they will contact other parties and would not allow anyone to make democracy hostage. PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said that he is agreed with the decision of the APC. “I will inform about the decision on boycotting the oath-taking ceremony after consulting the party,” he said.
