Apex Committee meeting: IG Sindh briefs about Madrassas registration, Afghan refugees and Karachi operation

KARACHI (92 News) –Inspector General of Sindh police Ghulam Haider Jamali has briefed the Apex Committee about registration of Madrassas, Afghan refugees and Karachi operation in a meeting at Chief Minister House on Sunday.
While briefing the Apex Committee, he said that 2100 Afghans were arrested under National Action Plan (NAP), while 251 Afghans were released after Proof of Registration (PoR) cards verification.
He said that the documentation was under process of 422 Afghan nationals, while, 1427 Afghan’s living illegally have been arrested. “657 cases were registered against Afghanis,” he said.
Briefing about the Karachi Operation IG Sindh said that 520 people died in 2015 in Karachi.
He said that 118 extortion, 393 dacoities and only one kidnapping for ransom incidents occurred in 2015. “As many as 935 shootout occurred during the ongoing year,” he said.
Ghulam Haider Jamali said that 596 criminal gangs have been eliminated, while 136 terrorists have also been killed this year.
He said that 250 dacoits and kidnapping for ransom criminals were killed in different operations this year.
