Appointment of new army chief is Pakistan’s internal matter, says US State Department

WASHINGTON (92 News) - Spokesperson for the United States Department Ned Price has said that appointment of new army chief is Pakistan’s internal matter.

In a statement, the US State Department said that relationship between Pakistan and the US has been important for 75 years. “We will continue to work together with Pakistan for stability in the region. Dealing with threats like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is a common interest of Pakistan and the US. We want a strong partnership with Pakistan for counter-terrorism.”

The US State Department said that effective action against terrorist groups and militants is expected. "Apart from this, we hope for cooperation and efforts against regional and global terrorism. Pakistani people have been badly affected by terrorist attacks in two decades. We support the efforts of Pakistani government to combat all forms of terrorism,” he concluded.
