Appointment process of new COAS will start on Monday, says Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the appointment process of new COAS will start on Monday.

Khawaja Asif said that a ceremony will be held on November 29. One of the five senior generals will be appointed as the army chief. There is no dispute over the appointment.

He said that Ishaq Dar discussed the appointment of army chief in his meeting with the President Arif Alvi. Imran Khan is trying to make the appointment of new army chief controversial.

It is pertinent to mention here that, Ishaq Dar had held a meeting with President Arif Alvi in the President's House. During the meeting, they had discussed overall political situation of the country, Imran Khan's long march and other issues. Ishaq Dar had also conveyed the message of Prime Minister Shehbaz to President Arif Alvi. The issues related to the appointment of new army chief had also discussed.
