Armed forces have distanced themselves from politics, says COAS Qamar Bajwa

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said the armed forces have distanced themselves from the politics and want to stay away from it as well.

Addressing a luncheon hosted in his honour at Pakistani Embassy in Washington on Tuesday, he said that the armed forces want to stay away from politics.

"Following my promise, I will resign from the post at the end of the term. Restoring the weak economy of the country should be the first priority of every stakeholder of the society. There could be no diplomacy without a strong economy. The nation cannot achieve its goals without a strong economy,” he maintained.
