Army chief's appointment process will start by end of this month: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the appointment process of the army chief will start by the end of this month.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that Imran Khan is being haunted by November. "The month of November will also pass well. The audio leaks have exposed the reality of cypher. They remained silent for 20 days after receiving the cypher," he added.

He said that the cypher is directly associated to the national security. "The nation will never pardon them."

The minister said that the government will tighten the noose against the PTI leadership as per law to minimize the chances of relief for them.

He said that environment of terrorism prevails in the northern areas. "The country is in the grip of floods. All institutions, including the Pak Army and the Pak Navy, are helping the flood victims. But the lust for power has maddened Imran Khan," he added.

Khawaja Asif said that the elections will be held on time. "All issues will be resolved as per law and constitution," he concluded.
