Army Chief visits Bahawalpur Corps, reviews operational preparedness

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited the formations of Bahawalpur Corps during their winter collective training. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the army chief witnessed manoeuvre of mechanised formation as part of Defensive Corps’ operations against the conventional threat. Later the COAS also visited position of an infantry formation in Fort Abbas Sector along Eastern Border. COAS expressed his satisfaction on high standards of training and operational preparedness. While interacting with officers and troops, Gen Bajwa appreciated their high morale and said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and looks forward to peace within and peace without in line with the vision of the father of the nation.   The army chief said that a well equipped, well trained and professionally competent army deters war and guarantees peace. “Pakistan Army is one such force which has become battle hardened through its combat experience against terrorism,” COAS remarked. Bahawalpur Corps commander and inspector general training and evaluation accompanied COAS.   Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the main office of Mari Petroleum Company on Thursday. According to the ISPR, the company administration apprised the COAS of the performance. The COAS lauded the company’s role in the economy of the country.
