Army chief visits KP Frontier Corps headquarter

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Headquarter of Frontier Corps KP (North) on Friday. According to the press release by the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the army chief laid floral wreath on Shahuada monument during his visit. He also visited Frontier corps Museum and Fort Gallery which has been opened for public. While talking to the officers and men of Frontier Corps, the COAS lauded their contributions to bring stability in the province including erstwhile FATA. The army chief paid rich tribute to the martyred and their families who made great sacrifices for the sake of motherland. He said that it’s because of efforts of the security forces that now socio economic development phase is in motion to carry forward gains of kinetic operations towards enduring peace and stability. The Commander Peshawar Corps Lt General Nazir Ahmed Butt accompanied Gen Bajwa during the visit. A day earlier, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Armoured Corps Centre Nowshera. Lieutenant General Sarfraz Sattar was installed as Colonel Commandant Armoured Corps. The outgoing Colonel Commandant Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar (retired), a large number of serving and retired officers, soldiers and families of shaheeds attended the event. The COAS appreciated performance of Armoured Corps both in conventional and non-conventional combat. Earlier on his arrival, the COAS laid a floral wreath on Shuhada’s monument.
