Army has nothing to do with politics, says DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Rumours about the Pakistan Army backing the government, Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) Director General (DG) Babar Iftikhar clearly stated that Pak Army has nothing to do with politics.

In a statement, the DG ISPR affirmed, “We made it clear before and saying again, the army has nothing to do with politics. Those who are talking about it, I’m requesting them not to bring the army into this.”

Babar Iftikhar also maintained that the institution is responsible for protecting the country on strategic and other grounds. “These controversies should stop and those who are encouraging it should first provide evidence. “Don’t drag the institution into this dialogue,” he added.
