NAB arrests Hamza Shehbaz and MQM founder
Earlier today, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz after Lahore High Court (LHC) Judge Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi dismissed his plea for extension of his interim bail. After the arrest, the NAB officials shifted Hamza Shehbaz to NAB Headquarters, Thokar Niaz Baig.
MQM founder Altaf Hussain arrested in London
On the other hand, Scotland Yard arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain from his house in London.

The FIA had already submitted an application to Interpol for the arrest of Altaf Hussain. He has been shifted to a local police station.

The law enforcement agencies had submitted concrete evidence to Interpol against the MQM founder. The key proofs about target killing and extortion were presented to Interpol. All the proofs were presented several months ago. On Jan 9, Pakistan had decided to again contact the United Kingdom to take a decisive action against the MQM founder. The Interior Ministry made the decision after involvement of the MQM founder in the recent incidents during a meeting. The FIA and police officers participated in the meeting. It has been decided to all record of the cases will be sent to the UK. It is being suspected that the MQM founder is also involved in the murder of Ali Raza Abidi. The UK will be asked to either hand over the MQM founder to Pakistan or take action against him.
