Artillery Maidan robbery, shootout suspect arrested

KARACHI (92 News) – The man believed to have robbed the family of a 10-year-old who died in police firing in Artillery Maidan area of Karachi, was arrested on Tuesday. Karachi police chief Dr Amir Ahmed Sheikh identified the suspect as Khalid. Sheikh said weapons, mobile phones and a rickshaw had been seized from the suspect. He said, Khalid, a rickshaw driver from Hijrat Colony had admitted to seven robberies. "His accomplice, Shahzad, was killed in a shootout with police in Akhtar Colony on August 13," Sheikh said. One of the bullets fired by police had hit the 10-year-old who had died from the wound.
