Asad announces arrival of 1.5mn doses of Corona vaccine in Pakistan today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Sunday has announced the arrival of 1.5 million doses of Corona vaccine in Pakistan today.

In a tweet, the minister said that more 1.5 million vaccines are arriving today and another almost 5 million in next 10 days.

“Last week June 12-18, more than 23 lac vaccinations were done at a rate of 332,877 per day. This is the highest so far in any week. With 1.5 million vaccines arriving today and another almost 5 million in next 10 days, inshallah next week will be a new record. Well done Pakistan," Asad Umar tweeted.

On the other hand, Pakistan reported 1,050 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

According to the national dashboard, 37 more people succumbed to the disease during this period, taking the nationwide death toll to 21,977.

Pakistan recorded a coronavirus positivity rate of 2.55 per cent as of the total 41,065 samples tested for the presence of the infection, 1,050 were declared positive. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 948,268.

The number of active cases stands at 35,491.
