Asad assures to address PTI parliamentarians’ reservations

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Finance Minister Asad Umar on Wednesday assured to address reservations’ of Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians. Speaking at the launching ceremony of annual report of Burki Institute of Public Policy, Asad Umar mentioned that mini-budget will not put burden on the general public. He also said that the government is working on a comprehensive economic revival plan to put Pakistan on the path of self-reliance. The minister said Pakistan’s friendly countries including Saudi Arabia, China and the UAE have generously supported Pakistan in dealing with the current account and fiscal deficit. “We are thankful to our friends but our next priority is to take all the hard but corrective measures to revamp our national institutions on strong footings so that we are not again put into a situation where we need emergency financial cushion from abroad.” Touching upon the CPEC, Asad Umar said this mega project holds a very strategic status for Pakistan to improve its connectivity with the regional countries and beyond to reap the fruits of the up-coming opportunities in South and Central Asia. He said Pakistan does not only want to be a beneficiary of CPEC but it also intends to be a valuable contributor to supplement the benefits of this vital project. He said we not only want to reach North and South through CPEC but also approach westwards to achieve maximum opportunities of socio-economic development. The finance minister said Pakistan is also working on a plan to bring forward other parties to invest in various projects along CPEC route to generate more economic activities and jobs for our youth.
Asad asserts to remove gap of MNAs, ministers
Asad Umar assured to address reservations’ of Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians. He also asserted that there is a need to bridge the communication gap between Members of National Assembly (MNAs) and federal ministers. The minister suggested PTI members, federal ministers and all MNAs to meet in order to resolve the issues. It is pertinent to mention here that the players of 'Kaptan' are angry on the behaviours of ministers. The members of NA expressed reservations on the steps being taken by the finance minister on economic policy in the PTI parliamentary party meeting. The party members suggested Asad Umar to take steps on keeping views of the ground realities. Meanwhile, Minister for Defence Pervaiz Khattak and Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi assured the party members for providing weekly briefing from the next weekend.
