Asad Umar warns against spread of Omicron in country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Planning Minister Asad Umar has warned against spread of a new wave of Covid-19 variant named Omicron in the country.
In a tweet on Sunday, he said that there is clear evidence of a beginning of another Covid wave which has been expected for last few weeks.

He advised the people to follow Standard Operating Procedures including wearing face masks.
Earlier, Asad Umar had said that the Corona variant Omicron is very dangerous and spreads fast, while vaccination is the only defence. He had said that the Corona new variant Omicron could emerge in Pakistan. "About 50 million people have been vaccinated. We are expediting testing in high-risk areas," he added.
Planning Minister Asad Umar had said that the government is taking steps to control the new variant. "The next 2-3 weeks are very important. We have to expedite the vaccination process. We are also going to start the Booster Shot Programme," he added.
