Asghar Khan case: Ex-COAS Aslam Beg, ISI former DG record statements

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Mirza Aslam Beg and ISI former DG Asad Durrani on Wednesday appeared before a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) committee constituted to investigate the Asghar Khan case. They recorded their statements before the FIA investigators. The five-member committee questioned the former COAS for an hour about the formation of the Islami Jamhori Ittehad (IJI) and distribution of amounts among politicians. The FIA had constituted a committee to conduct an investigation in the Asghar Khan case. The committee is being headed by Ahsan Sadiq, a grade 21 officer, while Dr Usman Anwar, Dr Rizwan and FIA Director Law Ali Sher Jakhrani are the committee members.
