LAHORE (92 News) – An accountability court on Tuesday extended the remand of former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general Ahad Cheema and five others into the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) till April 4. The AC judge was conducting hearing against ex-LDA DG Ahad Cheema and five others in case related to Ashiyana-e-Iqbal Housing scheme scam. During the proceedings, the lawyer argued that Ahad Cheema was involved in corruption in Ashiyana-e-Iqbal Housing scheme. He claimed that huge record was retrieved from Cheema’s laptop and prayed the court to extend remand for interrogation into data obtained from his laptop. The while extending the remand adjourned the hearing till April 4. On the other hand, the NAB officials presented former Evacuee Trust Board Property (ETPB) chairman Asif Hashmi in the court. The NAB official said that ex-ETPB chairman Asif Hashmi was accused of illegal allotment of plots, hiring and assets beyond income. They appealed the court for physical remand of Asif Hashmi. The Federal Investigation Agency had handed over the ex-ETPB chairman to anti-graft agency yesterday.
