LAHORE (92 News) – Accountability Court Judge Munir Ahmed extended the remand of former principal secretary to PM Fawad Hassan Fawad for 14 days in the Ashiyana Housing Iqbal scandal. He will be again be produced in court on August 18. The NAB officials sought extension in the remand, saying that they want to investigate him further. Moreover, while being the provincial health secretary, Fawad acquired six mobile health units which were purchased at a higher-than-market rate. A couple of days ago, NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had ordered an inquiry against Fawad Hassan Fawad over financial irregularities. The bureaucrat is also being probed by NAB for possession of assets beyond known sources of income. Fawad has served as former PM Nawaz Sharif's principal secretary and is considered close to the former premier. He was removed from the post of principal secretary on June 1 this year and appointed director general of Civil Services Academy, Lahore.
