LAHORE (92 News) – PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari called on Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq at Mansoora on Thursday.

During the meeting, Zardari said that the government had totally failed in the current scenario. "There is a tsunami of inflation in the country. Under the current circumstances, the Jamaat-e-Islami should play its role," he added.

The PPP co-chairman said that the PDM would remove the JI reservations, if any, regarding the no-confidence motion. "I endorse JI's stance on the election reforms. The government formed as a result of the no-confidence motion would introduce the electoral reforms," he added.

Sirajul Haq said that they had an objection on the electronic voting machine (EVM). "I am steadfast on this stance from day one that massive rigging would be done through the EVM. The opposition has not been taken into confidence with regard to the voting right to overseas Pakistanis," he maintained.

To a question by a journalist whether Shehbaz Sharif and Pervaiz Elahi got their waistcoats ready, Asif Zardari responded by flashing a victory sign.
